The Cincinnati Reds are still in the thick of the playoff hunt, trailing the final NL Wild Card spot by just 1.5 games. As they push toward the All-Star break, the team received some positive updates regarding injured pitcher Hunter Greene and outfielder Jake Fraley.

According to beat writer Charlie Goldsmith, Greene is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment in Triple-A on Tuesday, while Fraley is also progressing well, currently taking at-bats and set for a status check when the team returns home Monday. If both continue trending in the right direction, they could return shortly after the All-Star break, giving the Reds a significant boost.

Greene, now viewed as the ace of the rotation, was a former No. 2 overall pick and an All-Star last season. Under manager Terry Francona, his development has accelerated, making his return crucial for the team’s postseason hopes. Fraley, a versatile outfielder dealing with a shoulder injury, recently received a cortisone shot and has been ramping up activity. His return would give Cincinnati valuable depth as they gear up for a potential playoff run.
