Two Promising Cincinnati Reds Prospects Selected for 2025 MLB Futures Game

Two of the Cincinnati Reds’ most exciting young talents—infielder Sal Stewart and catcher Alfredo Duno—have been selected to represent the organization in the 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game. The showcase will take place on Saturday, July 12 at 4 p.m. ET at Truist Park in Atlanta, with coverage available on MLB Network, MLB.tv, and MLB.com.
While not every franchise had multiple players chosen, the Reds were fortunate to land two, both of whom have impressed throughout the season.
Alfredo Duno, widely considered one of the most high-profile international signings in Reds history, made an immediate impact after joining the organization in 2023. In his debut year, he posted a dominant .945 OPS in the Dominican Summer League. Bypassing the Arizona Complex League in 2024, the Reds fast-tracked him to Single-A Daytona at just 18 years old. Despite an injury that limited him to 32 games, he showed promise. Fully healthy this season, Duno has played in 64 games, batting .269/.422/.453 with 55 walks and 61 strikeouts. He leads the league in RBIs (44), ranks 2nd in OBP, 3rd in OPS and doubles, and sits 8th in slugging.
Sal Stewart, the Reds’ 2022 first-round pick (32nd overall), has lived up to his billing as a reliable hitter. Now in Double-A with the Chattanooga Lookouts, the 21-year-old is enjoying a breakout campaign. In 71 games, he’s slashing .327/.390/.498 with 18 doubles, nine home runs, and 13 steals in 15 tries. Stewart currently leads the league in batting average and hits, ranks 2nd in doubles, slugging, and runs, 4th in OPS and RBIs, 5th in OBP, and is tied for 7th in homers.
Together, Duno and Stewart showcase the bright future of the Reds’ farm system as they prepare to shine on a national stage.
